Save the Date – Property Race Day 2019
Property Race Day 2019 will take place on Thursday June 13th at
The Pavillion, Leopardstown Race Course .
The Property Race Day Ireland is a hugely enjoyable day for all those present, enabling the great and the good of the Irish property industry to meet and help to support our charitable causes along the way.
The chosen charities for 2019:
The ISPCC is the national child protection charity in Ireland with a vision to see an Ireland where all children are safe, heard and valued. Their mission is to make the protection of children everyone’s priority by providing services that aim to build strong resilient children and families who can cope with challenges, solve problems and lead positive, healthy lives.
Childline, operated by the ISPCC, is Ireland’s only 24 hour listening service. All volunteers received comprehensive training and there is a significant cost attached to this. The support of the Property Race Day Ireland makes this possible. These funds have allowed Childline volunteers to engage with children through our online, text and phone services.
Children born with EB (epidermolysis bullosa) have little or no collagen which results in their skin being incredibly fragile. The slightest movement or touch can cause blistering which results in massive wounds all over their body.
As this breakdown also occurs internally, eating and drinking causes huge trauma. Painful bandage changes are a part of daily life and can take up to four hours.
The condition is extremely painful and leads to disability and deformity and there is a 75% chance of developing a very aggressive form of skin cancer due to the constant breakdown of their skin.
DEBRA Ireland is a registered Irish Charity set up by a group of parents in 1988 who were living with the devastating news that their children had EB. At that time, there were no facilities for EB in Ireland and families travelled to the UK for treatment. The determination of this small group led to the establishment of EB clinics in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and St James’s Hospital.
