Derek Lucie-Smith Remembered

Derek Lucie-Smith was born in December 1947 and passed away in January this year, 2016. Amongst his many business achievements, he was a Co-Founder of the Property Race Day in 2007 with a number of close like-minded friends. Derek’s eagerness to ‘give something back’ coupled with a passion for horses and popularity within the real estate financing community, all came together to kick-start the event. The fact that the Property Race Day UK has raised over £1.5 million to date is testament to its success. From the outset, Derek was a huge supporter of the Property Race Day. He was always on hand for advice. He never made it over for any of them but was always keenly interested to hear how it was progressing. His enthusiasm and love for life and never giving up was infectious and he’ll be remembered by all of us, particularly his good friend John Hall who was an equal driving force behind the event and who continues to serve on the PRDI Committee up to today.

Derek will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
